Apologies for my Absence

In my little Profile paragraph, which appears in the right sidebar, I did write that I am still quite fragile and anyone who has read my Main Blog, from the beginning, will have a little insight into why I might have said that. Maybe then I was a bit too eager to race ahead with my Blogging when I decided to start this second Blog about my dieting progress on Stepping Out for a Bite.

I was inspired by Sue's How Low Can You Go Food Diary and Mrs Thrifty's New Beginnings With Food to try the Harcombe Diet  and like these two lovely ladies I wanted to be quite honest, if I didn't stick to the plan or didn't lose any weight.

I should have been prepared, therefore, for the comments that I received in response, however I have to admit to being very upset by two in particular and apologies to my 4 Followers, I haven't been able to post on this Blog for sometime. However, I do recognise that I did set myself up to receive comments and to make myself "accountable" for my actions in regard to my Food Intake.

Therefore I would also like to apologise to both anonymous commenters for not publishing your comments. I can't find a way to reinstate the comments, which I deleted, and can only remember one of them verbatim, so Anonymous 1 here is your comment, "A few too many Oops moments, you'll never be anything but a heifer unless you change your attitude!". Anonymous 2, I don't want to paraphrase, but if you send your comment again I will post it and thank you both for trying to help me stick to my guns.

Whilst I am not necessarily any less fragile emotionally, I will be trying to add some posts on this Food Diary Blog for those who were kind enough to Follow me, but it will probably not be daily and is likely to only be a celebration of successes, rather than a no-holds barred account. I hope this is Ok.

Lots of Love Arwedd xx

  1. Oh dear, they were unkind to post less than supportive comments - it IS posible to be critical without being unkind!

And this is just the reason why I made MY diet blog private - at least for now!

Have a ((hug)) and keep on with it

  2. How awful to get such negative and totally rude comments. I believe firmly in the old adage, 'if you have nothing nice to say shut up!!' or words to that effect.

You should switch your comments setting to not allowing anonymous comments, that usually keeps away the trolls.

Well done on still following the diet and trying your best, I will call back and look out for your new posts.

My own Blog has been sadly neglected for far too long. The upsetting news we ended our holiday on seemed to knock the stuffing right out of my sails and things have gone to pot Harcombe wise, although we are still eating very healthily.

Actually coming here and reading your blog post has really helped strengthen my determination and for that I thank you.

Continue to do your best, I'll be around if you need any help or advice..... and 'yah boo' to the trolls out there.

    Sue xx

  3. Hi Arwedd - couldn't agree with Sue more. We are supposed to be supporting each other and disparaging comments isn't going to raise anyone self-esteem enough to put them in the frame to look at their eating habits. Sending the hugest of hugs through the energy waves .... coming down the ley line that runs from Norfolk/Suffolk to Cornwall! Everyone is - according to NLP - doing the very best that they can at any given time with the tools available to them. Hang on in there Arwedd - you'll get where you want to be in your own time, above all, protecting your health, both mental and physical. I would not publish anonymous comments! Lots of love xxx

  4. You don't need that kind of encouragement Arwedd! Just take your time, and it'll happen. I've lost just over 1.5 stone and it's taken 6 months. I've another stone to go but am in no rush. As for the nasty comments I've had to start reviewing mine before I publish because some nasty person was saying very personal and completely untrue things about a member of my family. Under an assumed name of course, very brave, I don't think! Rise above it and stay strong, love Claire xxx
